DeCoupage Cellars, at Domaine Chardonnay.
Member Only Private Winery Estate.
Not open to the general public, the unique world of Domaine Chardonnay and its limited edition repretoire of elegant wines are shared exclusively with its Wine Club Members and Bed & Breakfast guests staying overnight.
Our DeCoupage wines are hand crafted with passion, and born from intention, intuition, and the belief that Temecula Valley can produce wines of remarkable character and elegance.
Every bottle begins as an idea shaped by passion, guided by skill, and crafted entirely by hand on our estate for the sheer love of wine and the good life living off the land.
Meet Our Talented Winemaker, Owner and Architect: Mike
Before he ever stepped into a cellar, Mike was already a master of design. Revered in Orange County for his award-winning career in architecture and landscaping, he built a life around vision, structure, and aesthetic harmony. When he and his wife, Laura, moved their world to Wine Country, he tried his hand at winemaking – and discovered a new craft and unquenchable passion- where skill and creativity could coexist in the most remarkable way.
Mike’s approach is both technical and expressive. His palate is precise, his blending instinct natural, and his standards for excellence and purity unwavering. From his very first vintages crafted with the utmost care, he garnered gold and double-gold medals from respected wine judges. Today, he’s known for expressive whites, exceptional Chardonnay, and the estate’s latest achievements: a Double-Gold medal Cabernet Franc / Merlot blend and another exceptional Pinot Noir vintage winning Mike 95 points, another Double Gold medal and top scoring red wine of all of Temecula Valley.
A Shared Creative Vision
Though wine making is Mike’s passion, it’s truly a partnership.
Laura — an artist and fashion designer by trade — brings her eye for beauty to every label, tasting note, and detail that connects guests to the world they’ve created. She harvests alongside him, contributes to stylistic decisions and tasting notes throughout the season, and ensures the essence of each wine is captured visually and emotionally.
Together, they are the architect and the artist — building a life and a cellar defined by craft, intention, and love.
“Wine making lets me build something living — something shaped by the season, the soil, and the people I love. Every bottle is a piece of our home that we get to share with you.”
Our Winemaking Philosophy
Estate-Grown. Hand-Crafted. Small-Batch.
The foundation of our wines begins in the vineyard. Much of our fruit is estate-grown, hand-farmed where possible, and nurtured through sustainable and organic practices. When we source from outside vineyards, we choose and assist other small family growers who share our values — prioritizing organic and thoughtful farming.
Every cluster is handpicked by family, friends, and a dedicated team. Harvest begins at night or in the earliest morning hours when the fruit is cool and the acids are at peak. Grapes are crushed on our estate the same day — ensuring purity, freshness, and precision from the very first step.
Low-Intervention, High-Attention
DeCoupage wines are crafted with a low-intervention philosophy. We let the fruit speak. We listen.
Neutral barrel programs preserve varietal character
Whites remain in tank longer than industry norms to deepen aromatics and extract layered flavor, as well as give extra settling time so extreme filtering is avoided
Red blends are shaped with both tradition and curiosity — unique combinations alongside classic expressions with unexpected nuance
- Red wines are allowed to age to their desired maturity naturally in the barrel- even if that means waiting a little longer to bottle
Every decision is intentional. Every lot, whether 10 cases or 2 barrels, is touched by our hands.
Elegant & Exceptional.
A Different Perspective
Not coming from a traditional wine background gives Mike and Laura an uncommon advantage: they create wines as both producers and lifelong consumers. This translates to pure passion. Their standards are high, their taste impeccable, and their aim simple — to prove how expressive, elegant, and world-class Temecula Valley AVA wines can be.
The result? Extremely limited quantities, often a single barrel or less, each bottle treated as a work of art. These are wines that feel personal — because they are.
