Autumn in Wine Country!

Autumn is the most popular season in Temecula Wine country… you know why?

So much going on here with all the wineries busy harvesting their grapes, crushing and fermenting them in to the wines you all know and love, and Domaine Chardonnay is one of the most exclusive and excellent of them all. We have been busy these last few months crafting exceptional fine wines just for you, our beloved customers!

We already hand harvested our coddled Chardonnay- as this delicate white grape varietal is one of the first to ripen- usually maturing in the second half of August. It is already fermented now, the sugars converted in to ‘wine’ and now to sit for the next 9 months in steel tanks to clarify, go through a partial malo-lactic fermentation and round out. This 2024 vintage should be ready to release to you by Fall of 2025- so keep an eye out for it!

Our reds are still coming in and getting processed. Mike is making 17 different wines this year with 13 different varietals- 2 whites, 2 rose’s, and 13 reds! If you caught that… and yes… he is making 13 ‘single varietal’ wines- a delicate craft many winemakers have not been able to master- but Mike definitely has that magic touch!

So for those of you seeking fine wines, and fun times… head on out to visit some of Temecula’s 50+ wineries! Each one has its own vibe and atmosphere, its own flavor and style. Here there is something for everyone, for both seasoned wine connoisseurs and pleasure seekers alike.

For the active outdoors couple, the vineyard landscape on our own property is gorgeous right now with its acres of grapevines budding out, perfect for taking a morning stroll, or a good 1 hour trek through the vines. There are also hiking trails in the nearby hills, on the Santa Rosa Plateau and Lake Skinner.

For those who want a little more casual exercise, Temecula E-Bike Rentals is just 2 doors down from us and will come drop off and pick up bikes here at Domaine right to your room’s front door! Temecula also offers a few beautiful golf courses open to visitors like Journey at Pechanga, and several wonderful day spa options as well.

Probably what Temecula Wine Country is most known for, besides the wineries… is hot air balloons! Several companies offer daily morning sun rise tours over the grapevines- the views are so incredibly gorgeous from up there and the ride is worth doing at least once in your life! We recommend A Grape Escape as one of the best in the valley and they’ll give our hotel clients 10% off.

But the next most popular thing to do here in the summer are Wine Country’s fabulous music concerts! From popular musicians of all genres, infamous cover bands of your favorite groups, local bands, elegant classical and jazz concerts and even some celebrity rock stars come here and play!… Many of our wineries offer various concert series throughout the summer, both day and night time events, and many wineries offer live music for free on their tasting room patios!
