An Easy Fall Appetizer: Roasted Fig & Goat Cheese Crostini

Pairs perfectly with: DeCoupage Cabernet Franc / Merlot Blend (Double Gold Winner)

When you’re heading to a dinner party or hosting last-minute friends, it helps to have one recipe that feels effortless but still makes people say, “Wait—what is this?!”

This roasted fig and goat cheese crostini is just that. The figs bring a soft sweetness and earthiness that complement the dark berry fruit and herbaceous depth of our double gold-winning Cabernet Franc / Merlot blend. Add creamy goat cheese, fresh herbs, and a little crunch—and you have an appetizer that feels seasonal, elegant, and unexpectedly easy.

Roasted Fig & Goat Cheese Crostini

Serves 6–8 as an appetizer

Ingredients:

1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds

1 tbsp olive oil

6–8 fresh figs, quartered

4 oz goat cheese, softened

1 tsp honey

½ tsp balsamic vinegar (optional)

Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish

Flaky sea salt & cracked black pepper

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.

Toss fig slices with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Roast for 10–12 minutes, until softened and just beginning to caramelize.

Spread goat cheese onto each toast, top with roasted figs, and finish with a drizzle of honey, herbs, and optional balsamic.

Serve warm or at room temp with a glass of our Cabernet Franc / Merlot blend.

Laura’s Note:

“These are one of my go-to holiday party appetizers. They come together quickly but feel thoughtful—and they highlight the richness and elegance of our Cab Franc / Merlot blend beautifully. This wine has always been a special one for us, and after its double gold win, it feels like the perfect bottle to share this season.”
